The College of Electrical and Information Engineering was established in April 2001. The college has four enrollment specialties: Electrical Engineering and its Automation, Electronic Information Engineering, Measurement and Control Technology and Instrumentation, and Artificial Intelligence, one Department of Electrical and Electronic Fundamentals, four institutes of optoelectronics technology, signal and information processing, advanced optoelectronic functional materials application technology, applied electronics technology and intelligent system, three experimental training centers for electrical electronics, electrical information engineering and industry 4.0 smart manufacturing education, and two bases for electronic innovation practice and electrical & electronic craft practice for college students.

Relying on the college-student industrial park, electronic innovation and practice base for college students, industry 4.0 intelligent manufacturing education and training center and Siemens, GD and other professional characteristic experimental training platforms, through the college-student electronic science and technology association, the college student industrial control association and other student associations, the college carries out a wide range of college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship, academic competitions and social practice activities, and forms the electronic design competition and PLC design contest and other brands of engineering training programs. The college actively carries out the integration of industry and education, school-enterprise cooperation, and has signed school-enterprise cooperation agreements with more than 40 domestic and foreign enterprises, such as Siemens, Phoenix, etc., and sends graduates to enterprises for internship every year.
