The College of Automotive and Transportation Engineering is a key construction college of “double first-class” characteristic disciplines at provincial level in Heilongjiang Institute of Technology. The college now has 5 undergraduate majors: vehicle engineering, transportation, traffic engineering, automotive service engineering, and new energy automotive engineering. Among them, vehicle engineering, transportation and traffic engineering are of provincial first-class majors, and the vehicle engineering major passed the professional accreditation of China Engineering Education in 2018.

The college has the provincial “double first-class” characteristic disciplines of green low-carbon transportation technology in the cold region and the characteristic disciplines of power and national defense; a master’s degree authorization point for transportation; key laboratories of the Ministry of Education, Heilongjiang provincial key laboratories, professional, unique and superior New Industry Institute of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology for New Energy Vehicle, Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center of Higher Educational Institutions in Heilongjiang Province for Automotive Engineering Fundamentals, specialized scientific research platforms and talent cultivation platforms such as Heilongjiang Institute of Technology - Heilongjiang Longyun Group Off-campus Practice Base for college students in Heilongjiang Province.
